CranioSomatics for Craniosacral Practitioners Workshop
CranioSomatics for Craniosacral Practitioners
(CS-CP)
This advanced 2-day workshop is designed for experienced craniosacral practitioners. It adds CranioSomatic concepts and techniques to the attendees’ current craniosacral knowledge and skills. CranioSomatics will provide a structural, musculoskeletal aspect to your existing craniosacral skills base and revolutionize your approach to bodywork.
Essential craniosacral material will be briefly reviewed as new concepts, evaluation procedures, and treatment techniques are introduced and integrated into your present knowledge base. This workshop will expand your cranial understanding into a musculoskeletal paradigm and provide skills that are pre-requisites for attending our advanced program, CranioStructural Integration.
This is not a beginning craniosacral workshop and basic craniosacral skills and techniques will not be taught. Therefore, participants need to meet the following requirements:
- Prior completion of a craniosacral program (e.g., Upledger’s CST - 1 & 2 or comparable craniosacral training)
- Clinical experience using craniosacral techniques for two (2) months or more, with the treatment of SBS strain patterns as an integral part of therapeutic practice
- Knowledge of cranial osseous anatomy and clinical use of sutural release techniques
- Comfortable with palpating cranial and somatic ranges of motion
Participants' qualifications must be reviewed and approved by the instructor,
either in person or by phone contact.
Participants will learn:
- To use manual muscle testing, therapy localization and challenge, palpation, range of motion, and other procedures to identify cranial and musculoskeletal (somatic) dysfunctions, and for pre- and post- treatment evaluations
- To correlate sutural restrictions and SBS strain patterns with musculoskeletal dysfunctions and associated postural compensations
- New pelvic approaches to releasing cranial strain patterns
